Flowers Across Heaven . . .Updated!

Yes this flowery bush is just across our house Heaven. Somebody said it is medicinal. Somebody said it is poisonous. I stood under the sun for about 10 minutes and people passed (including our dog friend Tutti Frutti), and they all greeted me, offered suggestions, made gossip (ok, call it chit-chat), some advised me how to take pictures, some warned me against camera snatchers, some kids came and watched me in curiosity, some butterflies flew around me, and suddenly I realized, that all I have to do is to stand outside Heaven and the world connects right away! And I knew that I will always be a part of this strange, funny, helpful, nosy, flowery and loving community . . .
My flower in mini red and yellow (Updated below with its yellow flowers and its right name!) and my weekend musing are my contribution for Maia's MacroFlowerSaturday and for TodaysFlowers by Santilli, Denise, Pupo and Sandy. I was a sudden guest last week at TF. Thank you TF team! Ahhh, another great busy week just passed! And I hope yours was just as productive and inspiring . . . Have a pleasant week ahead!

UPDATE! Sunday 9AM Manila!!!
The flower is called Ochna Kirkii (Thanks Team EJ of TheChairSpeaks!) or Mickey Mouse plant! Now you know the 'quirks' of the one who stumbled into it first. Ha! It is also referred to as Bird's-eye bush since it is a shrub. And now, here is its equally gorgeous yellow partner . . . Oh, what a lovely, lovely day! And please, if you have gorgeous pictures of flowers (and possibly with a name! ;-o!) please be a Guest Friend at TodaysFlowers! For more information, just visit the TF site!!! Share your flowery world!!

Poisonous or not, it's a pretty little flower. I like its red petals assorted with that little black/white "dot" on top.

lol, see what a camera and some flowers can do. Medical and toxic may be both right. Lots of medical plants are poisonous in large doses. But what an interesting flower.
Thanks for sharing.

What very beautiful flowers Lui. I have never seen anything like these before. The community you live in sounds like a great place to live. Sorry I missed your TF flowers last week. I wasn't able to get on the computer much to visit my friends. Have a great weekend.

My octogenarian mom used to have one.

The common name is Mickey Mouse plant; scientific name is Ochna kirkii.

According to Chair Speaks, the name is Mickey Mouse, i guess, s/he's right for it looks like a mickey's ear shape..lol

Anyway, this is my first time to join Today's flower.

Have a great weekend.

The flower is unique with the green turned dark balls. Or what do you call it? Smiles

Hi Lui... this pair certainly belong at my beauty queen ball! I must keep my eyes open... have not seen these fascinating blooms here in Manila. [There seems to be some disagreement about my weed being a periwinkle on my blog. I too looked for more information about periwinkle and cannot find a single reference to it in yellow. Do you have a good flower identification site you use?]
