. . .you don't bring me flowers . . .
you don't sing me love songs
you hardly talk to me anymore
when i come to the corner
where your flowers bloom
and you are not there . . .

I know it sounds like the old Neil Diamond song that you are more familiar with. But I can not use it because although Neil's song is beautiful it does not really convey what I wanted to say to the original TodaysFlower contributor, Bogart. And what I wanted to say is that for many of us, for all those who have loved and lost a loved one, the memory is not always one of pain. And remembering is not always a sad moment. It is a moment locked in time like a flower frozen in time and space and revisited when that special date turns a corner and watches you with drooly eyes . . . .
Today marks the 11th birthday of my alpha dog Sumo, the father of Sweepy, which is also the birthdate of Sumo's other pup Bogart who left us last year and whose memory I paid tribute the whole of this week. Don't worry today is the last day of my tribute for Bogart. My friends got worried and inundated me with text messages. Hey, I'm OK guys. And the reason I can not go out is because I am finishing 3 feasibility reports! ;-(
. . . so yes, my late dog Bogart was the original TodaysFlower contributor and some of you may remember him as probably the only dog who blogged and featured flowers! Well, I am just continuing his legacy. . . so thank you Luiz for giving Bogart a space in TodaysFlower almost every week until his death last year. It is in his memory that I developed an eye and ears for flowers and their stories. . .
My flowers today I share with Maia's Macro Flowers and Todays Flower of Luiz, Laerte, Denise and Sandy where I am a featured guest this week. And Bogart's converted shot above is especially for Amy's Color Splash Sunday. And the small flowers on top I discovered in front of the house of my workshop student Ignacio. . .

This beautiful post and the gorgeous flowers are a beautiful tribute to your sweet Bogart.
You have lots of beautiful memories with him.
Thank you Maia! You are always such a gracious host!
Sweet attribute to Bogart...
My cat died months ago and it broke my heart. I have no cat now, I still can't have a new one.
Happy Sunday, Lui :)
Congratulations on being guest friend for Today's Flowers. The orchid in TF is gorgeous, so are those featured in this post. Bogart will always be fondly remembered.
super shots
What gorgeous photos!
What a great tribute to a loved one! Loved your words and the floral images are beautiful!
Congrats for being the guest friend at Today's Flowers. Your orchids are gorgeous.
Love your beautiful photos! :)
I'm so sorry about the loss of Bogart. I know how hard that must be but good to hear you are doing ok.
The flowers here and also yours as guest host are all so beautiful as was Bogart.
I've loved my dogs, too. And the cats, well...they are good company and I'll admit I can't give them away because no one else would love and spoil them like I do.
Your flowers and tribute are beautiful. ♥♫
Beautiful photos. Amazing flowers and a very qute dog :)
Lui reminds me very much of my Bridgette whom I lost several years ago but always will miss her. She was a black dog with a little bit of white full of black spots. She was beautiful just like Bogart. I love this post Lui. A little late but Happy New Year :)
Roses are so pretty! Nice dog.
sorry to read about the loss of your dog. beautiful photos and beautiful tribute.
paz
this post makes me hug Fritz a bit tighter. i'm sure remembering Bogart brings a smile to your lips. a lovely flower for you dear friend.
They are such unusual little flowers! Beautiful, too! I understand how you feel about Bogart - I saw a dog like my first, yesterday, and the empty place in my heart hurt a little, even though he has been gone 10 years...
those flowers are beautiful but your post is very touching too. Many times as you've written, our blogs are sometimes alive and interesting because of the characters we posted about. Many blogs have animals as their main characters and where would we be without these guys...?
Beautiful flowers, just breath-taking ones..
Touching post on your beloved Bogart..
As flores são lindas, e o maosaico ficou muito criativo! Bela homenagen!
I absolutely love your selective coloring the last photo. The combination of the rose and his head turned to look off to the future makes this such an emotional photo. Beautiful!
