Fade not in vain . . .

You do not really die. You just fade away. Gracefully . . .
You know it when a part of you seem to be peeling off and you feel the loss. You feel the pain. And you either brace the beauty of leaving or deny it painfully. . . .
You can not always look back and pine for your youth or beauty or when you were at the prime of good health. You can look back and smile at the memory of your youth and realize that even without it, your beauty is as timeless as your forever young mind. It remains young and beautiful even as your body bogs down and a part of you peels off . . .
You can instead embrace the re-birth of a new you. To see with new eyes. To feel with less pain and desire for anything and everything you can not have. And instead, to finally feel and sense the beauty of what you always have. In your hands and in your heart, the beauty of life that is you, will always feel new. And when you peel the many layers that need to be shed, you will feel light and finally free!

This is our blooming and fading Birds of Paradise plant trying to survive the erratic weather and harsh elements (Hey, my dogs can be very harsh!) in Heaven. They remind me of some people I know who are presently undergoing the same harsh conditions of sickness, of losing (a job/career, properties, a loved one...), of separation anxiety, of sadness, or simply the fear and uncertainty of the times. Please hold on. Close your eyes. Be still. And reclaim your capacity to be whole again. And embrace the paradigm of your rebirth. My macro flowers and macro insights ;-) for Maia's MacroFlowersPhotography.

Thanks for sharing your photos and your thoughts with us at Macro Flowers Saturday.
You are a master with lovely words, unfortunately I am not so I just enjoy reading them.
Have a beautiful weekend.

First, your shots are amazing. They have that exotic feel which you've captured perfectly on these macros. Your words - beautiful.

Insightful commentary and great macros. Not what I would expect a bird of paradise to look like.

Birds of Paradise is a lovely flower. I, too, have it but is orange in colour.
