Her Many Delightful Faces . . .

She comes in pristine white . . .

She comes in vivid pink . . .

But I like it when she comes out in a lilac shade.

Or in a rare combination of tones
that highlights all of what is and was.

She is so much like so many people I know
scattered around the world
their many colors and cultures
mixing with the here and there
the now and then
the diaspora of a global culture.

Someday, the world will be an open land, where people will be one in all their dazzling colors and strange languages crossing interpretations and meanings and purpose. Someday, the parable of the Bougainvillea flowers will be told where its lasting beauty will manifest its resilience against the tide of a material world. My story will resonate with fourth flower. For I am of mixed breed exactly like most of the hounds in my house called Heaven.

I share my flowers with Maia's MacroFlowers and for TodaysFlowers of Luiz, Denise, Laerte and Sandy. May you all maintain your sanity and humor against the holiday rush, the crash of cholesterol levels, and mountain of gifts most of which we really do not need and hold on to the essence of friendships, of happy family bonding, and know and feel love even in the strangest of places and moments. . .

I thought, at first, these were poinsettias, except for the part abo8ut the three petals, but I see they are really bougainvilleas. So that is what bougainvillea looks like! When I am surrounded by snow, any colour looks beautiful!

Bouganvilleas are indeed so lovely. I have one on a little tree trunk that I have to take inside in the winter, makes me feel so tropical. Lovely photos, except the one of you looking all greenish!
