Today, I Stopped For a Flower

You had me at hello.

You had me swaying with you in the hot morning
even with the ugly dark clouds hovering above you . . .

You had me with your delicate pink petals
and your sunny yellow core waving me to stop.

You had me crane my neck to gaze at you
as you danced with the slight breeze.
I stopped just for you.

But I had to move along . . .
and there you were again!

Low enough for me to touch you!

Oh, you had me at hello. . .

And you had me at goodbye.

These subtle pink flowers (I trust somebody will give me its name) kept asking me to slow down as I hurried past. I tried to greet all the singing plants along the way but this tree insisted that I stop and take my time under its shade. And so I did.

One must never question the wisdom and whims of nature. I held its sturdy trunk for a second, breath in the refreshing scent of the wild, and with eyes closed uttered a whispered prayer. A prayer of thanks for its beauty, for its oxygen, for its capacity to filter the pollution and soak excess rain water, for the pause in my harried days, and simply for allowing and reminding me to link in and be connected. And with that I moved on knowing I will do the same when I get back . . .

My pink contribution for Beverly
who tirelessly reminds us to think pink:

And for the great team of
Santilli, Denise, Pupo and Sandy
who makes our weekend bright and blooming at:

Look TF team! Somebody watered the fading pink Adelfa on a hot day!

May somebody and somebeing give you loving pause to your days.
May somebody/being give you water for your thirst.
And may your weekends be pink and healthy . . . always.

Lui, you are in heaven my dear and words drip from you like the dew from a rosebud in early morn; no tricks up your sleeve, for you are what we see, a humanitarian indeed; if each of us could find this sweetspot; we'd be sought after. So I'm always seeking. You touched my soul and our kindred spirits have connected here on earth as it is in heaven. How utterly delightful. I feel your soul. You've connected; what love! Oh how beautiful, those little pink blooms would have stopped me too. I especially like your last photo with the water droplets on the petals.
