Remembering a Special Flower . . .

She was all beauty and talent and laughter and everything it stands for.

She was all fire, a fighter, a courageous being who believed that nothing was impossible. She saw form and function and manipulated them in her creative hands and mind and transformed objects and condiments into an art form: food, clothes, furnishings, accessories, events, her family, her pets, her community, her life . . .

Because in her trusting heart was the belief that her fate, her tragedies, her sorrows, her sadness were but passing chapters in her life mingled with her triumphs, her happiness, her many delights and creations that mirrored her faith in the beauty of life.

When her dusk settled and her weaknesses overpowered her strengths, she willingly surrendered and gave in to whatever her fate will bring her. She taught me the beauty of leaving, of fading gracefully, of embracing her beginning and her ending . . .

She led a full life and she brought us along with it.

Years has passed and she moved along to her guiding light yet something remained. Something sweet and mellow and bursting with the fullness that I can only refer to as Joy has stayed permanently in our house I now call Heaven.

Yes. I live in Heaven. And she brought heaven to our lives long after she has passed.

For my late mother Fely and my mother's mother Fina
who was a special Lola (grandmother) . . .

You both define what a total woman is for us.
You are both special and made our world special as well.

And I share this with my friends Luiz, Denise, Laerte and Sandy of TodaysFlower and most especially for Maia who is taking a rest and healing . . .

I hope your Mother stories are just as special. Happy Mothers day!
