Roses Along The Way . . .

My eldest sister Luchie has recently retired and is excited about the new adventures before her. With all the free time now in her hands, she wanted to do so much. I never doubted her capacity to go after the things she wanted considering her boundless energy and enthusiasm and the excitement of embarking on new paths. This is the operative word: change. Embrace it!

Which is why this month is all about renovating Luchie's new space. A bigger room. A working space for her to do consultancy work part time so she can enjoy her free time. New furnishings and the newness of the present, which means renovating the old to make it new, creating paradigms to fit your new lifestyle. And my role in this exciting journey is as her stylist, her runner, her rah-rah buddy, the supportive youngest sis, etc. Thus, I have to design her space, shop around for her furnishings, redesign some stuff she wanted to keep and make plans to hold a garage sale for the old, or simply be there to offer my professional and whimsical opinions ;-)

Change is not always a fun phase. I am sure that in her quiet moments, Luchie nursed some fears, some apprehensions, some vague confusion perhaps, but overall it is one great exciting change for her! And I am just as excited. This week alone, two low pressure areas combined to create a tropical depression which gave us a rainy cloudy week! I thought that it was OK since the construction workers who were renovating her toilet and bath area and chiseling off old tiles may not be as comfortable if it was hot and humid. The rains made the task more comfy and easy.

And since we were taught early to treat our staff like family, the workers join us for meals (our househelpers eat the same food served us during meals!) and were considerate of their conditions (sleeping areas, entertainment after work, etc.) that this weekend when they take a break to go home to their families, we take our break too ;-)

The beautiful roses above does not belong in our garden. Luchie and I stumbled upon them while walking around our subdivision shopping for her renovation needs! The garden gave us a welcome break as we gushed at the wild blooms and plants. It also gave us an idea that maybe our garden in Heaven will also need some renovation perhaps?

The blooming roses, just like my sister Luchie, is a reminder and an inspiration for all of us facing changes in our lives right now. . . When we embrace and face the changes before us with love instead of fear, the newness in our lives will bloom just as magnificently . . .

For all blooming friends like Beverly and her PinkSaturday, Maia and her MacroFlowers every Saturday and for TodaysFlowers team of Luiz Santilli Jr., Laerte Pupo, Sandy Carlson, and Denise G who always find time to help me link up. Thanks Denise!

Much excitement by you, girls. I don't have a sister but seeing how you help each other, you make me regret it.

Your roses are very pretty.

Bless your sister on her retirement. It will not be easy at first. My first year, nearly lost it. I missed work as I never knew anything else and the people. Nothing I enjoy more than seeing lovely roses.

Beautiful post! Change is not easy when we're set in our way, but it's necessary, and we just have to embrace it. Beautiful roses.

Hi Lui, back again to let you know I have added your photo. Sorry for the delay. This is the first time in the last couple of days that I have been able to get on my computer.
