My Heart Flowers . . .

The week of hearts is coming.

And the neighbor's red-pink flowers are blooming.
And they seem to block my path!

As they brush past my cheeks as I pass . . .
I should have kissed it instead!

. . . oh, but they sing a haunting melody . . .

. . . as if it knows the haunting in my heart!

. . . of someone once near . . .

. . . but now so far away. . .

You can never really dictate the pace of your grief.
You can pack your sorrows
and remember with joy
and bid your farewell
knowing that at times
saying goodbye is the best thing
and that you will meet again . . . someday.
