Poor MrLeach! I am not exactly a big fan of leeches. I mean who would when this small/mighty vampires can possibly siphon all my blood in minutes! But MrLeach find comfort in our house Heaven and I have no choice but to give him some reminders. Oh, alright, call it nagging! Sure, I nag him to stay out of my hounds! So far, MrLeach has kept his word. But because of the extreme, harsh environment (freaky weather, restless animals, clueless keepers and apathetic people, etc.) leeches DO have their bad days . . . .

I found MrLeach being devoured by the noisy yet hardworking black ants! BTW, the black ants are considered to be "lucky" in my country. Don't ask me why. I have no idea. Personally, I do not believe that one's color is the gauge for one's luck. But I'm digressing to my story . . .

So I came to MrLeach's rescue!

I shooed the ants away . . .

And scooped MrLeach out of harm's way (aka ant's way)

. . . with a plastic spoon
(recycled to scoop dirt and dying leeches) . . .

Then I transported the dying but still alive MrLeach
to his favorite leaf . . .

. . . and with fresh water
and some sunshine (abundant in my place!) . . .

MrLeach was revived and soon wiggling his way back into Heaven's moist earth and into my hounds Sumo and Sweepy's barkings where MrLeach work his butt, er, slimy self ;-), to earn his place into our Heaven and into our hearts (not really). Well, FYI, MrLeach help translate my Alpha Dog Sumo's barkings for general patronage :-)

I Am The Keeper of this small kingdom.
I hold the key to life and death here.
I just saved a life as I just bid farewell to some fading beauties.
Now, it's time for my vanilla yogurt with my hounds . . .
