ROYGBV days . . .

This is a bunch of Rambutan fruits given by our neighbor who also owns the eggplant in my Sunday's TodaysFlowers post. Oh, didn't I tell you that people around here are quite generous and we do exchange gifts on special occasion? Yes, my parents started it years ago when they were still alive. My folks thought that you are part of the community when you think of your neighbors as your family. This is why, even when my parents died in the 90s, people still talk about them! This only goes to show that people (at least in my part of the world) still want that old motherly/fatherly authority figures who poke into their lives and dote on them like crazy! But I am digressing from RoyGbv. . .

Okay, ROYGBV, in case you don't remember, stands for Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet which are the colors of the spectrum. You take the three primary colors of RYB to create the secondary colors of OGV. People pronounce this as "roy-gee-beeve", inserting an "I" between B and V (ROYGBIV) to stand for Indigo (dark Blue) to make it easier to pronounce. But it only confuses the color. I do not use "I" or Indigo at all to teach basic colors.

In photography, we immerse ourselves with the spectrum of colors. Capturing as many vivid shades and play of light on any "boxed" scenes. But although I love colors, I am extremely smitten with non-colors. The stark lines and full-bodied forms take a deeper meaning and mystery that allows for more introspection. Plus, it it also a perfect way to share my non-color shots of the Rambutan fruits above, which by the way, was so sweet and packed with antioxidants! Oh, what a precious way to indulge . . .

These are my entries for SepiaScenes on Thursday!

And for BlackAndWhiteWeekend on Friday!

In whatever hue and non-hue, Rambutan packs a mean punch. What a week! Have a safe and thrilling photo-hunting week, guys!

Thanks for dropping by, and for thinking of our meme. Thanks also for reading and taking note of the rules - not everyone bothers! Your photography would be an asset, so I hope you come back to us :)
