When the Sun Is Out . . .

. . .it is time to do some washing so I can hang them out to dry in this RED hanger! Yes, we still prefer to hang the clothes out to dry under the sun in Heaven. And not only clothes get the sun power, but also pillows, mats, dog collars, doggy toys, doggy blankets, doggy bowls, my feet (the back of the feet is the best place to absorb the Vitamin D of the sun!) and my late dog Bogart's mini-T-shirt (the photograph below which can also be found in Bogart's blog) which now hangs in his brother Sweepy's house . . .
This green mini shirt on RED mini-hanger, hanging on another RED plastic hanger made me ponder on why, until now, I still keep my late dog's stuff, including his pillows etc. Bogart's house remain in its place and the other dogs take turns sleeping on it. And so when it's cleaning time (when I wash the dogs every week) I wash all their stuff too (pillows, pillowcases, mats, towels, collars, toys, etc.) which is the reason why other stuff (all grant proposals, exhibition concepts, art dealers, curator's invites, etc.) are put ON HOLD on my Wash and Dry Day and the mobile phone alerts are attended to minutes and hours after!  And at the end of the task, I sit exhausted watching the whole back-breaking work and wonder if I am in a way delaying my grief by hanging on to Bogart's stuff in the guise of recycling things in Heaven? Have you lost someone to death and still keep their stuff, clean and wash regularly with the other stuff, and do move on? My RED ponderings for Ruby Tuesday!

Lovely t shirt! I hang out my laundry under the sun too, but I used bamboo poles instead of lines.

Haha! Yes, the sun and the air is the best for the clothes to dry. And they got the most lovely smell as well! Funny shirt you have there :D

I remember 25 years ago moving to married student housing when my husband was in school. The huge yard area between buildings was filled with clothes lines. I remember moving in there and seeing those lines and feeling so excited. My memory of the rich fragrance of my mother's hanging laundry was sharp in my mind. Alas, the fragrance of my own wash never evokes the same memory or reaction. I guess, in the end, work is just work and I love now having my own drier.

My neighborhood bans clotheslines.

Love the t-shirt and love the clothes pin. I miss the smell of clothes air dry at the clothesline.

Have never seen a hanger like this.

Winter is always wet here, so I don't hang out the sun until late spring.
