Birdhouse in Sepia!

Yes! This is my very own birdhouse! Sweepy is proudly guarding it. The keepers of the pigeons in my last post made this for me. Of course I designed it and told them how I wanted it done and the next day the birdhouse was done made from wood scraps they found around them! Oh what highly creative people! And do you know that people who can visualize verbal instructions (like directions, designs etc.) and implement them are people who are good in mathematics and art? So for executing my dream birdhouse based on verbal instructions, here's my Super ShoutOuts ThankYou to my dream team: Ricky, Henry, Erwin, and their mom Flor! Look at how these smart kids made the house of their pigeons which I featured in my last post:

Imagine if these kids have the right materials and tools. . . (Yes, my restless brain is presently computing cost and possible projects with them!) . . . Most of my friends know that I wanted a birdhouse which I can paint and decorate. And they were quite frustrated when they try to give me the typical birdhouse with metal or wooden walls that encase the birds! And I would shake my head and tell them that although the birdhouses were beautiful (oh, they are!) what I wanted was a birdhouse and not a birdcage. . . .

And this is how I wanted it! I wanted to give the free flying birds around Heaven a nice house where they can sit, sing, eat, take a nap, do yoga or whatever ;-) and be able to to do all that and fly free any time and every time they feel like it! And since this is an ongoing art project (art in progress) I will be featuring the finished work in my studio blog when I'm done with painting and decorating it. Ooopsy, another pending job. Sigh!

And in line with Self Sagacity's Two Questions Thursday, here are my 2 Questions:
(1) What is your Dream House?
(2) Do you live in one now or are you still in the process of having one?

My dream house is close to what I have now. So yes to #2.
#1 Wonderful garden and lots of room to play. Each and everyone of us can get lost in this house- no problem. The only thing we are still wishing is more quietness.

My own As:

1. My dream house would be a smaller house with open porch around it, filled with an organic garden of vegetables, herbs and some fruit trees!

2. Well, Heaven is not like that but is somewhat close to it so I'm fine with it for now.

There are dream houses and then there are DREAM HOUSES. In my night time dreams, I always dream that I live in a cave with a campfire to keep me warm and the wind raging outside. I feel safe and secure and happy. Of course, during my waking hours, my dream house takes on different forms depending on my mood. Most of the time, I am perfectly happy with where I live now, a cozy home on a farm near family and friends. Truely, what more can I ask for?

birds doing yoga--you crack me up! LOL i prefer a birdhouse, too, than a birdcage.:p i just a saw a beautiful birdhouse last night from my archives, made from driftwood.:p

my dream house--it's perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean or a lake. lots of natural light, no partitions, just spaces.

i live in a condo, and i'm hoping to win the 300+ million lotto so i can build my dream house. LOL

Love those sepia scenes. Very pretty.

1. My dream house would be a log cabin in the woods somewhere.

2. I live in a studio apartment now so I am nowhere near my dream house :)

Oh I love your open birdhouse, any little bird would be very happy to visit there.

I sort of have my dream house, it has high beamed ceilings and looks out on a large private backyard. My ideal dream house would have a view of beach and ocean.

Lui - thank you for adding to Birdhouse Thursdays. It is a small meme waiting to take off.

Love your site and your insight.

Dream house - big enough for Mother-in-Law, husband and me. Room outside for my 2 dogs and my greenhouse. A little spot to make tufa.

Stuck with a house on the market in one city, while renting in another city with husbands new job. Still looking for the dream house but I believe it is around the next bend

Did you get an answer on your flower in Green Bright and Hot? Looks like what we call a 4 o'clock. Do the flowers open in the afternoon?

I have wanted a sky light in my bedroom so I could gaze at the stars before falling asleep. I also want a big kitchen as mine is so small it is hard to get inspired there. With my 30 year mortgage nearing the halfway mark and me just years from retirement, it will probably remain just a dream...

Thanks so much for the visit. Take care & God bless!

1) My dream house would be some where near the ocean.

2) No, I'm no where near my dream house, though the one I live in now is perfectly fine too.

I have yet to find my dream house but in my life I have seen glimpses of it. I think the dream changes as you age and your priorities change.

You have a very great crew of builders. I would love to see birds enjoying yoga.

Joining the chorus of praise for the young people who made this outstanding birdhouse. I had to laugh as I imagined the birds doing yoga poses. Also made me think of Eat, Love, Pray for some reason. Go figure.

Am I living in my dream house? No - but I am very thankful to have my house.

Am I in the process of having the dream house. No - at this stage, it is important to reinvent this one and fulfill the dream here.

Hi- I'm late getting around. I think I live in my dream house since we have a 360 sq ft Park Model Mobile home in Florida and one in NC. The best of both worlds and not hard to clean. Loved your pictures.

A dream house would be a house full of happy people for me, no matter how it looks.

Nope, I'm not in a process of having one.

I agree with you Lui. For birds, it should be a birdhouse, not a birdcage.

Yuor photo of the birdhouse looks beautiful in sepia.

I jsut followed your blog!
