Cat's Whiskers Outside of Heaven . . .

Yes they are! Finally, I can share the real name of this plant. I featured it before and people told me the name. My neighbor, we fondly call "Manong" (an endearing title we give as respect to an older male person), told me that it is the 'Taheebo' plant. I think I wrote about this before when I featured this plant. According to Manong, he takes a few leaves of this plant and steeped it in hot water and he takes it as tea. I should try it but I have not done so yet. They said Taheebo tea boost energy and I would not doubt it for a moment because Manong is one of the healthiest men in his seventies that lived down Rainbow Avenue where our house Heaven is located! Taheebo is also called Cat's Whiskers! And there are also numerous stray cats with whiskers (but of course!) roaming down Rainbow Avenue boosting the energy of most of the dogs (including mine) who bark and run around chasing them! . . . . The flowers of my Taheebo plant is my contribution to Maia's MacroFlowerSaturday and for TodaysFlowers hosted by Santilli, Denise, Pupo and Sandy Carlson! . . . and most especially dedicated to my brother Joey who is celebrating his birthday so far from home. Have a fun and memorable birthday Joey and remember we drooly love and miss you very much . . .

What a delicate wildflower with those fine whiskers.
Let us know the effect when you try it out as a tea.

wow, that´s a beauty. Never seen anything like it. I don´t think we have it is Sweden.
I made a search about it and found a lot of medical use. So maybe one should be careful about drinking it.

The taheebo plant is a lovely flower. I started with 9 small ones and I have a long row of them in my garden now by planting cuttings patiently.

This plant is so pretty that I researched it a bit on the internet... it has a number of claimed medical uses, but also a few warnings, so I'd really investigate it before drinking as a tea.... I'm not a scientist but it's best to become informed... L

When I saw this plant, I had to go check my files, and compare it to a garden plant that grows here, called spider flower, or cleome. They are not the same, although the shape is similar! Your cat whiskers have a longer and straighter whisker, than ours have spiderlegs! I love the brilliant white, by the way!

Lovely whiskery plants.

No passion flowers in my post, just cactus and poppies.

over here in Malaysia, we called the same name as well, or locally known as 'misai' (whiskers) kucing (cat). They are widely used as traditional tea for diabetes, hypertension, kidney stones, and UTI.
