White Hibiscus!

I found this beautiful white Hibiscus along our street while looking for another flower. I found the flower I was looking for (the local fragrant Sampaguita) and to my surprise, I discovered this white Hibiscus blending well among the Sampaguita in one of our neighbor's front yard, that at a distance they look like the same plant! What a treat! At the photograph below you will see the small Sampaguita below the Hibiscus:

We call Hibiscus as 'Gumamela' and the common ones I see around our place are colored red, orange, yellow and the combinations of all these colors in one flower but rarely in pure white (I featured a pink one here before). I remembered playing with Gumamelas as a kid and we love mixing our crushed Gumamela petals with water and use the sudsy mixture for our blowing bubbles game. That was quite a fun memory!

Hibiscus slowly unfurling

This morning I went back to visit the Hibiscus but only one flower remained. Maybe because it rained all day and this plant prefers the sunny weather. It is quite rare to have rainy days in March since we are supposed to be having summery weather already. The rainy weather normally is in June!

Hibiscus greeting all the passers-by . . .
And a bonus! Flashy Red Hibiscus beside the white one,
greeting everybody as well!

Hi Lui, I've never seen white hibibcus. Just gorgeous. And good for you for following up about the bread yesterday. Hope you find out what happened.

They are so beautiful, what a pity that you didn't take a full window macro of them.
Thanks for the photo Lui, its the first one that meets the requirements, both size and quality.

Thanks for such encouraging words, friends!

Maia, I tried to take a macro shot but I failed to mention that there was a dog without a leash beside the plant as I was taking the picture and I did not want to antagonize him because he was watching me closely. So I took 6 shots and slowly left before the dog gets into a mood!

White hibiscus is lovely and not as common as those vibrant colours. Wonder if it has a nice scent?

Beautiful and really nice pictures!!
Thank you for sharing.

EJ's Chair, sorry but this one has no scent! Or maybe I was just afraid of the dog guarding it! ;-)

I hope the cats in your house are OK!

Hi Lui! Your white hibiscus is so pretty. I seldom see white around my place anymore.

Thanks for stopping by my entry.

Lovely photos! White hibiscus is seen here but they aren't as common as the ones in your last photo.

Wish it rained here too. Our weather is dry and dusty now.

The hibiscus in its bridal gown is utterly delightful. I have never seen such a clear white.

Thank you for spotting it and sharing it with us.

Everywhere I turn, I see hibiscus flowers. Was just telling Autumn Belle that I'm going crazy over them.
Your pure white one is gorgeous.

Hi po, I just want to know if you already have seen a three flower colors in one stem of gumamela. If yes, can you please post it here because I just want to know if it is possible?
