Dancing In The City

. . . and she dance and sway. . .
and swirl and prance
like in a hypnotic trance
of a never-ending melody
of hissing winds, and humming trees,
of feral cats mumbling half awake,
of dogs whining in curiosity,
and a keeper peering close by . . .

we dance in the heat of the noonday sun
and swirl slowly in the cool sunset
as the sky darkens as early as 5:30 PM

. . . soon
the lights will flicker
and the moon will snicker
at all the mad dancing
in an old dying world . . .

These lovely peachy flowers do look like dancers' swirling skirts! Very nice poem to go with the flower photos.
