The Moringa Flower!

This is the Moringa plant or locally known as 'Malunggay.'

We do not own this plant but it thrives around our subdivision
and every time we needed the healthy leaves
to spice up our chicken soup called "tinola"
we simply go to the neighbors who own the plant
and the neighbors would gladly share by saying
"help yourself and get as many as you need!"

And my sister Luchie would gather a few stalks
just enough to add to our hot soup!

But as you can see the plant is flowering now!
And this one belonged to the house behind ours
and Luchie made some "tsk tsk" noise
because the moringa plant is too tall
and its falling leaves are clogging the drain!

So Luchie scaled our backyard wall (watch out, Tarzan!)
and together (yes, I was the accomplice LOL!)
we chopped portions of the malunggay leaning in our property!
Above, you can see our Alpha dog Sumo in the background.
That makes him an accomplice too! Ha!

And I gathered the leaves to be dried and made into tea!

And I held the tiny buds to share with flower friends . . .

. . . because it has the daintiest but gorgeous flower!

. . . which I am sure will be admired by people
who has not seen a moringa plant
except the leaves sold in supermarkets!

Perfect for Maia and her weekly macro hunts!

And this one for the Todays Flowers team
of Santilli, Pupo, Sandy and my friend Denise:

And for Amy of:

. . . and for all flower lovers everywhere
especially those who love veggie flowers
I hope you have healthy plants
that is also healthy enough to eat
and provide visual feast to your eyes as well!

Such a beautiful flower! FlowerS! :)
I think I've never seen it before.. I thought at first I saw it - Does it smell good? I just can feel it, am I right? And you use it in the soup! WoW! Interesting! :)

I think Sweepy and Sumo would think it would be to cold to get over for a cup of coffe or tea? Or-- the coffee or tea should be for you.. But a bone or something for the dogs.. Because here it's 2 Centi grades pluss! We have had 0 - freezing point - at at least one night that passed..

Best greetings from Viola :)
Kisses from Pusa to Sweepy and Sumo! :)

How would I not love this? We call it locally in the Philippines as "Malunggay". I basically grow with it. It is not just a beauty but healthy too.

I have moringa plant/malunggay here at home. I planted it in a pot and bought it for $25.00, in fall and winter through half of the spring I bring it inside the house, it's like my babies. In the Philippines it's in our front yard ^_^ My first time to see the flowers ^_^ Thanks for the visit and the comment.

So the leaves are uses as spice, I'm wondering how it tastes.
I'm one of those who never seen these pretty flowers but still curious.

I was out all day and just now I'm try to catch up with comments.
Have a great weekend!

Interesting tea, you need many shrubs?

The producer of the TV clip is a filipina. Glenna lost her baby son, and she is very passionate about this. More people watch her Youtube that day.
