They start from small buds.
And the bud grows taller
and produces more buds!
And the first flower opens!
And produces happy laughter and barkings!
And then there's three . . .
And before I know it
there are more dainty little flowers . . .
all opening up before my eyes and spilling out of my hands!
What a miracle this plant!
And it started from a small vase like this:
My sister Luchie, the real gardener in Heaven, started planting this small plant into pots (noticed that she uses recycled plastic containers which she painted in silver!) which she then transfers into every imaginable plots (read: whatever space is available in our small house) and watch it bloom amidst extreme changeable weather and clumsy dogs. And this plant produces a spectacular show of variegated leaves in white, green, violet, yellow and a happy mix of all, and small dainty flowers in combination of colors! I featured the magenta clusters before but today is about pink, and about the survival and beauty even in the smallest and the most delicate of God's creatures. You will noticed too that ants and small bugs cling and live happily in it!
I can never have enough of these small blooms.
They remind me of flower friends I met who inspired me with their stories and encouraged me to know and document my own flower stories. From them I learned some flower names and some of the plants condition.
For Maia, whose macro flower images every Saturday, never fails to make my day. I hope you will find healing and joy in your love for flowers and I send you good wishes for your recovery. I am sure I am not the only one who misses you, Maia.
And for Luiz, the untiring host of TodaysFlowers every Sunday, may you continue to find the strength, the patience, the joy and inspiration to keep all flower lovers like us together every weekend as well. This goes for Luiz's team as well: for Denise, Laerte and Sandy.
And most of all for Beverly and her untiring search every week for anything PINK. Oh, you brought many happy Saturdays with your pinks, Beverly!
From some of them I learned that this plant is called Firespike. If I got it wrong, please correct me. This plant has produced some of the best flowers not just in Heaven but also in other homes and land where we shared it.

Thanks for visiting me, Liu. And your home must truly be Heaven, to have such wonderful plants. I will look for Firespike, but I fear my dry climate won't be as good for it as your beautiful islands.
FAD Friday is a tradition named after a little old lady who used that phrase as her signature curse while playing Scrabble. We wouldn't really hurt a duck!
Have a lovely Pink Saturday and thankyou so much for your visit.
What a lovely post with the flower coming to life in various stages. I love it. It is neat too how your nails and hand fit the pink bill as well.
Hi Lui, What a beautiful and interesting place to visit. Your photos area really creative. I love what a tender view you have of life. I love all creatures and have a cat. I hope Petrocelli doing well up there on your roof! Have a beautiful weekend!

Hello my friend, you always show such beautiful flowers. Love their delicate colors.
These are gorgeous little flowers, Lui. Love the speckles on them.
This is a wonderful post. The little blooms are just lovely!
It looks very nice.
This is an amazing plant, the way the buds and flowers develop, and the flowers are so pretty! Your house must be lovely with these flowers gracing it.
