Yes here is one of our lovely orchids with several of her shoots blooming at the same time! And since this variety can have blooming flowers with a length of one meter long, we tend to wind her long flowing gorgeous blooms around her or else her long lovely flowers will get trampled by clumsy paws ;-) Below you can see her brimming pots (top and bottom pots) where her flowers are almost meeting each other!
She obviously needs to be trimmed and her extra shoots transferred to another pot but I have no idea how that is done. I did tell Brooke (I named this orchid 'Brooke') that maybe she should stop growing extra buds since her pot is already overflowing but there must be some miscommunications because after our 'dialogue' Brooke started sprouting buds all at the same time! If my gardening terminologies do not make sense it is because I am not exactly a gardener and the plants we have in Heaven are all grown from trial-and-error method or plain common sense. I know how frustrating this can sound to a serious plant lover and gardener so I apologize. I am just glad that our plants thrive even with the kind of clueless Keeper that I am. . .
Add to this is my clueless brain especially when it comes to names and dates mingled with erratic weather (super hot 36 degrees with sudden rains on humid afternoons!) and hectic schedules which left me so exhausted this week. I always tell myself that when things get crazy I drop everything and focus on family and Heaven first. Which makes my dogs and plants and people around Heaven happy.
And so I missed several events and postings and lost huge photographs during the week. Sorry guys. And today we are celebrating Independence day (which is a vague historic event since we were colonized again and again!) and several of my friends are celebrating birthdays and having parties. I failed to make it to several important and special events lately and I failed to send my greetings so I hope people will understand.
So for all those celebrating their birthdays or have celebrated one especially to Lia, Albert, Alex, Chichi, Shirley, my Aunt Nena, my Uncle Jim, my brother's wife Racky, and most especially for Maia at MacroFlowers and for the TodaysFlowers team of Santilli, Denise, Pupo and Sandy . . .

Hi Lui, these are beautiful. I did not have time to check last week on TF but will make sure that I link your flowers for you, and will go back to make sure they are still there. Thank you for visiting my raccoon post. You could very well be correct, they might be living close by. I know I have a smaller animal living under my doorstep and I've been told we have moles, those tiny animals that like to burrow under the lawn! Never seen one of those though but a man was doing some work in my garden and a little head stuck up out of a hole and scared him. When our garden starts sinking I guess that will be the proof, ha! Have a great week my friend and thank you once again for being such a great supporter of Today's Flowers. I know Luiz and the rest of us really appreciate it.
Hi Lui,
This orchid is fantastic with those long flower stems. I'm always analyzing in detail all your pictures when you post about this orchid, hoping that I can steal some of your secrets.
You have no idea how frustrating it is. I'm pampering them daily and still they are just surviving.
If you are talking in Celsius degrees than we have the same conditions. We had some days with over 38 but it dropped down over night till now, so at least we could have some sleep.
Have a beautiful, cool weekend Lui.
Hi Lui, just to let you know I have uploaded your link to TF. I will check again soon to make sure it is still showing.
What a pretty little orchid. I would be like you and not know how to trim and transplant an orchid.
Your orchids are absolutely lovely. Mine are in bad shape and I don't seem to be doing the right thing. Perhaps the place where the orchid pots are placed are too hot.
My, what a prolific orchid! I don't have any, so I'm not knowledgable on how to care for them.
It has such beautiful blooms. :)
oh yes, my aunt has this orchid, too, and i got some photos.:p terrific shots.
so pretty Lui...I love the tender way you hold your precious plant.
My my, Lui those are glorious and very generous with their blooms. I remember having some in our yard way back when I was younger. Such healthy bunch. :)
Wow! So many!
Lucky you!
Pela quantidade de brotos, muitas orquídeas você terá! Lindas fotos!
your orchids are amazing, dear Lui
Nice day
It looks like you have the perfect environment at your house for growing orchids, Lui. I just received an orchid plant for the first time and I'm hoping I don't kill it. Our house is very dry inside. I put one ice cube in its pot once a week. So far, so good. Your orchid Brooke is really beautiful.
Three comments from me, that's a record - lol! Thanks for stopping by Lui and you are so very welcome. If you like I could upload your TF post each week. It will be a great pleasure to do so. Also I see Luiz is looking for people to be our guest friend on the home page. Would you like to share some photos for that? If you do and you would like to send me two or three of your favorite photos, my e-mail is:

Have a great week my friend.
It's nice to see you at TF. Do you know exactly what's the Genus name of that orchid? It's so beautiful. I love it's yellow stunning color.:)
