The Mandevilla

The Mandevilla remained strong in our small garden.

Its monochromatic pink color stands out in the hot and rainy weather.

Although it looks beautiful and lush
it is perfect to trail along archways
or any frame since it is a crawling plant.
But in our garden it fails to "crawl"
since there are no frames or archway to support it.
. . . so it just grows up and around
and dances like a free flowing plant
bursting with delight at its freedom.

In short, it can get unruly.

But how can we contain Mandevilla
when it loves the hot weather
and sudden rains
and the humid weather
and the people who marvel at her beauty?

We have extreme 35 degrees centigrade super hot days
that comes with sudden cloudy afternoons
that may or may not spill rains
that may or may not cool the humid air.
Like Mandevilla,
we really can not predict
how everything reacts
nowadays . . .

For Denise
and her flowery TF.

Here in Mass., USA I just bought a Mandevilla plant. I know it is only for our short season but maybe if I try hard I can keep it over our long harsh winter. I'm going to try..Your photo's are beautiful..

What a gorgeous flower that is!! or those are! I'm touched by its beauty!

35 degrees!! wow!! I would have bathed in the sea all day long then, as I cannot stand too hot climate. how do you all survive that!? :O

But if you have a house built of stone, the it's better..

Just now it's about 18-19 C degrees at 10:11 pm :))

I just love these flowers, Lui.
We cannot grow them outside here, at least not year-round, but I have a small dark pink one, and I just love it.

I hope you've had a wonderful day.

Sending big hugs to you!!

Hi Lui, so nice to see your beautiful mandevilla. I have one in a big pot outside. I brought it inside for the winter, and it climbed up to the ceiling, but it's happy to be outside for the summer. Hope we get some beautiful blooms like yours.
